This policy describes what data we collect, what we use it for, and what rights you have over it — on the Leguía Yias Arquitectos website and in the Autónoma tools (including the Operational Sovereignty Index). It is a single document covering all of the studio’s data handling.
Who we are
This site is operated by Leguía Yias Arquitectos (LY), an architecture studio based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Autónoma is an initiative of the studio; its tools live within the same site and under the same responsibility.
What data we collect and why
Contact form. The data you voluntarily fill in (name, email, project type, message) is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email, the subscription date, your language, and the IP address you subscribed from (to prevent abuse of the form). We use it only to send you studio updates — you can unsubscribe at any time.
Operational Sovereignty Index (Autónoma tool). When you analyze a point on the map, the coordinates you choose are sent to external providers (see “Who we share data with” below) to calculate the climate and terrain of the place — we don’t send your identity, only the geographic location you chose to explore.
If you leave your email to download the report (PDF/CSV) or receive it by mail, we store: your email, the calculated diagnosis (location, index, energy/water/food autonomy), your WhatsApp number if you share it, and your answers to the qualification form (whether you have the land, your role, your project timeline). That same email creates a simple, passwordless account: we send you a one-time access link (“magic link”) to view and compare the territories you’ve saved again, from any device. That account’s key is stored in your browser (localStorage), never your email — it’s an “access token,” not a credential you can lose or that anyone can guess.
Collaborative map. Every time someone analyzes a point, the result (coordinates + index, with no personal data attached) may be published anonymously on the tool’s shared map, so the map grows richer with use. No one can tell, from a point on the map, who generated it.
Technical use and anti-abuse. We temporarily log your IP address to limit the frequency of certain actions (for example, how many forms you can submit per hour) and to prevent spam or automated scraping. We don’t use the IP to identify you or cross-reference it with other data.
What we store only in your browser (not on our servers)
We use localStorage (local browser storage, not cross-site tracking cookies) to remember your preferences while browsing: dark/light mode, language, whether you prefer the simplified version, the territories you saved without leaving your email, and — if you did leave your email — your account key. None of this leaves your browser or is shared with third parties; you can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data from your browser settings.
Who we share data with
We don’t sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. While using the tools, some geographic coordinates (never your identity) are sent to external providers to calculate the result:
- Google Maps — to display the map and locate addresses you search for.
- Open-Meteo — live weather, terrain elevation, and river streamflow for the point you choose.
- NASA POWER — historical climatology (20-year averages) for the same point.
These providers receive only geographic coordinates, under their own privacy policies. If you left your email, we use it directly to send you mail (report, access link) — we don’t pass it on to any third-party email marketing provider.
How long we keep your data
Contact and newsletter data is kept for as long as the relationship is active or until you request its deletion. Territories saved under an account are kept until you delete them yourself (from “My territories”) or request full deletion of your account. Points published anonymously on the collaborative map have no link to any personal data, so no individual retention period applies to them.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to: access the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely (including your account and saved territories). To exercise any of these rights, write to us through the site’s contact channels. You can also delete individual territories yourself, without asking us, from “My territories” inside the tool.
This site operates from Argentina, under Law 25.326 on Personal Data Protection. If you write to us from the European Union, we equally respect the rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability established by the GDPR.

For any question about this policy or your data, write to us from the site’s contact page.
